Safety, labelling and transport of refrigerants

Refrigerants are classified as dangerous goods and must be transported, handled, and stored with care. At Darment, we follow all applicable regulations to ensure the safety of people, equipment, and the environment.

All refrigerant cylinders and tanks are labelled according to applicable legislation and international standards. The markings provide essential information on the contents, safety classification, and handling instructions — ensuring traceability and safe use throughout the supply chain.

All refrigerant shipments are considered transport of dangerous goods. For deliveries within Europe and globally, ADR transport regulations apply.

Darment has an internal Transport Safety Document for packing, loading, unloading, and documentation. Our logistics processes follow this standard to ensure compliance and secure handling at every stage.

Authorisation needed for F-gas purchases

F-gases, or fluorinated greenhouse gases, are regulated substances whose use, handling, and sale are subject to authorisation under EU.

F-gases have a high Global Warming Potential (GWP) and therefore require strict controls to prevent leakage, ensure traceability, and guarantee safe handling.

The F-Gas qualification is required for experienced engineers working with refrigeration, air conditioning, or heat pump systems. It is a legal requirement for anyone handling fluorinated gases (F-Gases) or other ozone-depleting substances during the installation, servicing, maintenance, or decommissioning of such systems.
